Die casting, particularly with automatic High-Pressure Die Casting (HPDC) machines, presents a significant challenge in controlling fumes and contaminated air. The process of casting a component generates a large volume of fumes and smoke with each cycle, rapidly saturating the shop floor. This is especially true during the initial stages of new die loading, where substances like diesel are used, producing heavy black smoke and oil vapors. Throughout production, the use of water-based lubricants, or emulsions, by spray robots further contributes to this problem, releasing substantial amounts of vapor with every component.
Despite the intensity of these fumes, the Air Pel team has extensive experience in successfully addressing these issues. We provide effective solutions by designing custom suction hoods that are specifically engineered to manage the complex needs of die casting operations. These hoods are strategically positioned to capture fumes not only during production cycles when spray robots are active but also during critical die loading and unloading phases.
